Google launches Playbook Guides: Strategies for YouTube creators in verticals like music and sports

Google has just announced the release of Playbook Guides, a new resource for YouTube creators making content in common categories like music, sports, education, media companies and non-profits.

Augmenting its Creator Playbook, the original resource for YouTube best practices, Google says Playbook Guides offer “tailored tips and strategies specific to the type of content you create.”

As a music creator, maybe you’re wondering how to successfully release an album or song on YouTube. Or, if you’re a sports creator, maybe you’re stumped on how to program your content during the off-season. Don’t worry – we’ve got you covered.

This announcement is just a small part of Google’s larger content push on YouTube. The company has invested heavily in growing its catalog of high-quality content, in part to better compete with offerings from traditional TV studios.

Google recently expanded its Partner Program to Egypt, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE), giving more users the chance to generate revenue based on the number of views their uploaded videos receive. The company also rolled out a new channel design for content creators.
