If you’ve got a Nest Cam and an August Doorbell Cam, you’ll now be able to view a stream of the inside and outside of your home in one app.
Both can be set to start recording when motion is detected, so you can get a birds-eye view of who’s at your door and when they may or may not go inside.
Instead of swapping between the Nest and August apps, you’ll now be able to see both streams in your August app.
“Video is a powerful aspect of smart security in the connected home. The integration with Nest lets our Doorbell Cam and Nest Cam work together to bridge the gap between activity happening inside and outside the home,” said Jason Johnson, CEO of August Home Inc. “As we evolve the August Home experience for customers, we will continue to work with leading smart home innovators like Nest to bring Smarter Home Access to life.”
It rounds out August’s smart home work with Nest, which already works with the August Smart Lock. The update will be available today, so don’t be surprised if your doorbell wants new firmware.
