If you’re a startup and you’ve been considering submitting yourself to the Startup Blast Off at Superconf 2012 in Miami, you’re just about out of time. The hard deadline is January 31st. That’s TOMORROW, folks. So yes, you have ONE day left to apply for the Startup Blast Off.
Based in the US? Why not come hang out with me in Miami for a few days and get your chance at some of the $26,000 in cash and prizes that’s up for grabs to the best startup.
Superconf is being held in Miami Beach, Florida on February 24th and 25th. You’ll hear speakers from OnSwipe, Square, the New York Times and more and of course there’s the Startup Blast Off. $10,000 in cash, plus $16,000 in services could be yours, and only 9 companies make the final cut for a chance to win.
So startups, let’s do this. I’ll be joined by a great panel to judge the Blast Off. I expect to see you there, and I want to be blown away.
Can’t make it to Superconf? Other great opportunities are available from Launch, DEMO, TechCrunch Disrupt and of course TNW Conference.

LikeAuston Bunsen@jason There is no charge to present. What you are referring to is our tables in the demo pit... which by the way are only $500--which is the cost of the rental tables, electricity and internet connect. I make $0.00 off that. It goes right to the vendors.
Also, you made that tiny notation unreadable.
Really low and slimy of you to lie about me.
Also, you're lying about Disrupt, which only charges for tables. Again--slimy and dishonest.

LikeAuston Bunsen@jason And in addition to lying about LAUNCH and Disrupt (the two conferences I created), you're lying about your own prize which is only $10k in cash.
Not sure how you expect to build a brand by lying about other people and yourself. Seriously, you should rethink your approach--it's not classy.

LikeJason Calacanis@jason I can definitely understand where you are coming from. I'll have the graphic revised to accommodate your view.
I'm very sorry if you feel I've misrepresented you. Sending a request to the designer now.

LikeAuston Bunsen@jason You shouldn't revise it for my point of view, you should revise it so it is accurate. It's low class to try to put down my event, lie about the facts, lie about yourself in order to prop yourself up.
Look at it this way, now I'm aware of you and your event and I think you're dishonest. Other folks are going to think the same thing.
It's one thing if you're me five years ago fighting against DEMO charging ~$20k to startups... but now you're attacking and lying about me the guy who stopped all that?
Lame.

LikeJason Calacanis@jason Call it what you will. When you are willing to provide some facts, I'll revise. I did some digging & found that it cost $1500 for demo pit in 2011. There is a citation that indicates to compete outside of the demo it is "fee-free".
I'm not into name calling, but if I recall correctly [http://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=1863898], you tried to piggy back your conference on my conference' Hacker News thread last year. So, you're "now aware" over a year after you first tried to drum up some attention by commenting on the thread I started for my conference?
I hate to keep going, but I can only take so much prodding man. You did not create TechCrunch Disrupt, nope. TechCrunch created TechCrunch disrupt, after a messy public airing of you & Michael Arrington's disputes.
In the end, it boils down to this: you didn't like my info graphic, I was & am willing to modify it & you've side stepped my requests for facts (via email) twice in a row.
