Attention leakers! Scanner Pro 6 for iOS is the document scanning app you’ve always wanted

Attention leakers! Scanner Pro 6 for iOS is the document scanning app you’ve always wanted

Readdle does good of job of making apps to deal with PDFs and other documents. The latest update to its scanning app, Scanner Pro for iOS, will delight people who deal with a lot of paperwork and, potentially, the next Edward Snowden.

The update is free to existing users. The developers are running a launch sale if you’re downloading it for the first time, dropping the price to $2.99 from the usual $6.99.

The company says it tested the utility with over 500,000 documents to create the new Scan Radar feature which automatically detects images of documents in your camera roll.

It also has an automatic scanning mode that allows you to scan documents simply by pointing your iPhone at them.

All in all a very handy tool whether you’re trying to collate this month’s receipts or trying to grab an entire archive of secrets from a government agency up to shady business.

The app also one-click One Note and One Drive integration for uploading your scans. Best not to use that if you’re expecting a government subpoena sometime soon though.

As well as the other new features, the update adds a re-edit mode which allows you to adjust your scans long after you’ve captured them, switching between color and black and white, and modifying margins.

If you are going to reveal a cache of confidential documents to the world, the least you can do is make sure they’re tidy.
