Deezer acquires Muve Music from Cricket to power up its push into the US

Deezer acquires Muve Music from Cricket to power up its push into the US

French music streaming service Deezer has acquired another streaming service, Muve Music, from US carrier Cricket. Deezer launched in the US in October 2014.

Neither party has revealed the financial terms around the deal but Deezer will continue to offer Muve as a $6 per month service for Cricket subscribers who spend at least $35 per month on their cellphone plan. It’ll also offer a free ad-supported option.

Deezer previously bought Stitcher Radio to expand its distribution channels in the US. Snapping up Muve gives it access to another 2 million paying subscribers.
