Vevo’s Android app gets a new UI and better video discovery options

Vevo has released an update for its Android app that brings it in line with the iOS version by ushering in a new UI and features designed to make it easier to discover new videos.

Announced today, the app has a new Home screen with a real-time feed of premieres, original Vevo shows, recommended playlists and news about your favorite artists, as well as a redesinged Browse screen. Among other tweaks, there are also improvements for video playlists – you can now watch them in shuffle mode or copy Vevo-curated playlists to your own account. You can also now view related videos while watching another.

Additionally, if you’re based in the US or Canada, there are now three channels (Hits, Flow and Nashville) for you to check out via the Vevo TV section. Viewers in Mexico and Germany also get some custom content, but exactly what isn’t specified.
