Flipboard has confirmed that it now supports Instagram videos in its apps.
Though not specifically mentioned in either changelog, Flipboard’s iOS and Android apps both got updates this week. After updating to the latest version of the Flipboard app, Instagram videos began appearing in my feed.
Sharing to Twitter and Facebook when sharing to a magazine has also been included in the latest iOS version.
Flipboard released a significant version 2.0 update to its content consumption platform back in March, adding the ability to create and curate custom magazines that could be shared publicly. Microsoft announced earlier this week that a Windows 8 version of Flipboard is coming soon.
Facebook introduced support for video on Instagram last week. Since then, other Web services have moved quickly to adapt to the change and add features like embedding and analytics. Consumer reception to the new feature has certainly been mixed, but that hasn’t held back partner services like Flipboard from adding support for it.
