“No. We’re not for sale.” says Twitter Co-Founder.

249111336_24851f07e6After a spell of rumors yesterday, Twitter co-founder Biz Stone calmly told Barbara Walters on American national television, “No, we’re not for sale”.

Appearing on talk show ‘The View’, Twitter’s co-founder and Creative Director dismissed the rumors that have floaded the blogosphere and major news sources over the last 24 hours.

Yesterday, according to sources at TechCrunch and Valleywag, Twitter was in “final stage” negotiations with Apple to be acquired for approximately $700 million. Stone however made it clear that the site is focused entirely on developing new feature and remaining independent.

Other rumors floated around that Microsoft were also in with a chance to acquire the microblogging giant, but it appears Stone’s comments have dispelled them too.
