The Next Web is hiring two writers. Come join us!

Here at The Next Web we’re always looking for great writers. Currently we’re specifically on the lookout for two new people to join our editorial team.

Sounds like a job for you? Read the two job descriptions below and please apply by 11pm Pacific on Wednesday September 10, 2014.

US West Coast reporter

We’re looking for someone to help keep us afloat in the flood of news that comes out the USA and beyond every day.

You don’t necessarily need to have a lot of professional experience, but you need to demonstrate an ability to write to a professional standard and a passion for the technology industry. That said, if you have experience under your belt, we’d like to hear from you too.

Ideally based in the Bay Area (or within easy regular travel distance), you’ll be keen to use your contacts, and to develop new ones, to break news from the biggest companies in tech. You’ll also be keen to introduce the world to the best new startups too.

Able to think on your feet and spot news angles that no-one else has thought of, you’ll also be fast and accurate in your reporting and able to speak the language of The Next Web’s audience.

North America Evening reporter or Asia/Oceania-based reporter

Tech news doesn’t rest and neither does The Next Web. We’re looking for someone to come and work with us to cover the hours when America is relaxing and Europe is asleep.

You could be based in Asia or Oceania (working daytime hours) or in North America, working evening/night hours (6pm to 3am Pacific or similar). Don’t be mistaken though, this is a full-time position and you’ll be held to the same high standards as the rest of our team.

In addition to covering news that breaks during these hours (and having a keen eye of what’s important to our audience), you’ll have a brain full of ideas for feature pieces that our readers will love. That could mean expanding on a news story with useful additional reporting; rounding up the best apps, tools or gadgets for a particular task, or taking a deep look at the tech business in a way that no-one else has before.
