Meet Snowciety, the app for social slopes, launching at #TNW2012

The Snowciety app has launched at The Next Web conference and it hopes to make ski trips even more social through mapping and real time stats.

Ronald Treur, co-founder of Snowciety wants to make sure that everyone one on a ski trip can find each other, track and rate their runs on the slopes and even compete and play with the results.

The company pitched as part of the Startup Rally at the conference and Treur says that as it uses geolocation to track your day out in the snow, they may be able to work toward finding victims in an avalanche situation.

This doesn’t necessarily explain why Treur has goggles on in one of the flattest countries in Europe, but you’ll agree that he wears them well.
