HP returns to the 80s for its best commercial yet

I normally don’t scour the internet for printer ads, but HP’s latest retro commercial is an absolute gem that’s worth watching till the end.

To demonstrate the speed of its new PageWide printer, HP hit up the adorably awkward Computer Show, a webseries that parodies now-ancient TV programs like PBS’ Computer Chronicles, about futuristic technology.

Host Gary Fabert talks to two HP executives about how their new printer is like “those hats with two cans of beer,” and then challenges them to pit their newfangled product against a dot matrix model supplied by an employee from a local print shop called “Kwikopy.”

If you enjoyed that, head to Computer Show’s YouTube channel to watch a couple more hilarious episodes featuring Reddit’s Alexis Ohanian and custom packaging firm Lumi.
