WordPress.com, the Internet’s largest blogging platform, now in version 3.0.1, recently added blog subscriptions, and is known for the clever names each new version is given.
The names, generated by WordPress founding developer Matt Mullenweg, are derived from the names of Jazz legends, often that of a sax player, an instrument Mullenweg himself plays.
The most recent version of WordPress, launched in a beta version in April and rolled out to all in June, was nicknamed “Thelonious,” after Thelonious Monk, an American Jazz pianist and composer.
