WordPress history jazzed up through graphics

The names, generated by WordPress founding developer Matt Mullenweg, are derived from the names of Jazz legends, often that of a sax player, an instrument Mullenweg himself plays.

The most recent version of WordPress, launched in a beta version in April and rolled out to all in June, was nicknamed “Thelonious,” after Thelonious Monk, an American Jazz pianist and composer.
