Wikipedia co-founder Larry Sanger’s screencast of the online encylopedia’s porn problem

Wikipedia co-founder Larry Sanger, who left the online encyclopedia not long after it launched to the public, has seemingly embarked on a one-man crusade to rid Wikipedia of its pornographic content. See the man’s Twitter stream here.

In a blog post last month, Sanger hit out at the lack of action on Wikipedia’s (and, by default, his other co-founder Jimmy Wales’) part to protect children from racy content on the site. Whilst his plight has been picked up by a few mainstream media outlets already, such as Fox News, Sanger has gone a step further by producing a fairly illustrative screencast of the extent of Wikipedia’s porn problem.

I, for one, have never, ever encountered anything remotely pornographic on Wikipedia, but evidently there is a chance of your kid stumbling across lewd imagery on the site. Check out Sanger’s 5-minute long video for yourself here:
