Personal identity platform About.me has unveiled a new standalone app as it sets out to “reinvent the business card.”
Adding to its existing About.me iPhone app, Intro lets you create and exchange business cards digitally, and you can share anything as simple as a link to your About.me page and profile photo, or your email address and mobile phone number. You just log in with your About.me credentials, and you can instantly send your details to anyone using their phone number, email address or About.me details.
Intro also lets you merge this information with your iPhone contacts, while everything you’ve sent and received is stored within the Intro app in the ‘My Shares’ and ‘Shared With Me’ sections.
About.me was founded by Ryan Freitas, Tony Conrad and Tim Young in October 2009, before launching to the public in December the following year. It was swiftly acquired by AOL, before news emerged that it was being spun out as a startup again two years later.
You can grab the new Intro app from About.me now.
