Virgin Media subscriber? BT Sport is coming your way from today.

Good news UK sports fans, Virgin Media has officially confirmed that BT Sport is arriving for subscribers from today.

BT Sport 1, BT Sport 2 and ESPN (which BT acquired earlier this year) will be available at no extra cost for existing Virgin XL TV subscribers, while customers on other packages can obviously upgrade, or subscribe to the additional channels for £15 per month.

BT launched its new sports channels in the UK earlier this month (check our iOS review), as it looks to win market share from BSkyB. Virgin Media already offers all the Sky Sports channels, and it was always seemed likely that it would throw BT Sport into the mix, which basically means you can now watch all English Premier League games through one subscription. In addition, you’ll get Aviva Premiership rugby, F1, golf and the Scottish Premiership.

The new channels will also be added to its online Virgin TV Anywhere service, meaning subscribers will soon be able to watch them on the move too – no word yet on when exactly this will be added.
