TwitterCounter upgrades look, adds DMs, more filtering & map view

TwitterCounter has just announced a newly designed widget with new communication and statistics features.

TwitterCounter lets website owners communicate, track and display their number of Twitter followers on their sites. Beyond a more stylized look that includes a scrolling view of your latest Twitter visitors, the new widget features:

More filtering options

In the dashboard, you can now see the visitors of your site ordered by date, number of visits or number of followers. You can filter them by followers/non followers/following/not following as well.

Stats can now be shown on a colorful worldwide map, similar to the map view offered in Google Analytics.

As Twitter continues to gain momentum as a way to share and produce content, better integration of Twitter tools with websites is going to be increasingly important. In addition to the widget, TwitterCounter.com also shows top 100 Twitter users and Lists, allows companies and individuals to be featured on the site, and offers Twitter stats (and a premium dashboard) for individual users among other features. TwitterCounter currently tracks over 4 million Twitter users.
