Twitter is planning to launch a site for developers using the Twitter platform in their applications, GigaOm reports.
After several very rocky months between Twitter and developers, the move may be an attempt to smooth things over by giving developers more information, assistance and support.
Twitter isn’t holding back: the site will have tips and tutorials, a blog on Twitter as a platform for developers, and a forum that provides a direct link between third-party developers and Twitter developers.
From what GigaOm is saying, it seems this site is very much focused on pushing the Twitter-as-a-platform agenda, which we’ve seen in Apple’s recent iOS integration, as opposed to encouraging even more clients — though I’m sure the company won’t be making the mistake of telling developers not to create them again.
