Twitter has formed a strategic partnership with German mobile operator Deutsche Telekom, which will result in the operator offering a tweaked user experience for the social network on its devices.
Announced today, Deutsche Telekom devices will get a “unique experience” which will include “a way for people to keep up with Twitter right from their homescreen” on Android smartphones from next year.
From Twitter’s perspective, the deal should help it make in-roads in Germany. Putting it front-and-center of the home screen on Android devices might not sound like a lot, but the operator has 140 million mobile customers alone, so it’s sure to increase awareness of the service.
