Twitter is opening a research facility in India

Twitter is opening a research facility in India

Twitter is planning a new research and design centre in Bangalore, its first office of that kind outside of the US, The Financial Times reports.

The new Indian office follows Twitter’s acquisition of Bangalore-based startup ZipDial last month. The company will be using that team as the basis for the new facility.

ZipDial specialised in allowing users to use social media apps regardless of how basic their device might be. Twitter’s new R&D centre will be similarly focused on increasing uptake in developing markets.
