Twitter has become the latest service to optimize its apps for the iPhone 5 and Apple’s iOS 6 after the US company pushed new versions of its iOS apps to the App Store.
The updates — which cater mainly for the iPhone 5’s larger screen — come just days after the microblogging service overhauled its apps to add a number of new features, including Facebook-like header images in user profiles.
The Twitter iPad app underwent a particularly significant revamp, ditching the sidebar among other things, as Twitter unified the appearance and features of its service across all platforms.
Users have not been unanimously won over by the changes, however, and that’s evidenced by the fact that Tweetbot for the iPad — which got a strategic price discount — jumped to number seven on the App Store’s paid app list.
