Dick Costolo has been Twitter’s chief executive since October 2010, but until now his account on the behemoth social network wasn’t Verified.
Well, today that’s finally changed. If you head over to his profile page, you’ll now see the iconic blue badge and white tick underneath his picture. It’s been a long time coming, but Costolo has finally joined the Verified club.
So why hasn’t Costolo been Verified before now? Well, he did give this answer back in 2012: “To everybody repeatedly asking why I’m not verified if I’m the CEO: I am verified in my own mind, and Mom said that’s all that matters.”
Costolo must have had a change of heart. Perhaps the allure of the Verified badge simply became too much for him? We may never know.
