Today Twitter announced that is agreed to acquire mobile-advertising firm TapCommerce. This is the second bit of advertising news from the social network today. The first being it was opening up Mobile App Promotions to all advertisers.
In a blog post about the acquisition VP Global Online Sales, Richard Alfonsi wrote:
Together with the TapCommerce team, Twitter will be able to offer mobile app marketers more robust capabilities for app re-engagement, tools and managed service solutions for real-time programmatic buying, and better measurement capabilities.
The company offers mobile ad buying for multiple exchanges and offers mobile retargeting of users. According to a report from Re/Code, who broke the news this morning, the deal cost Twitter about $100 million.
