For Twitch purists, the only way to send a Whisper was once by typing /w before the username in a global chat. Thankfully, that changes today.
To send a Whisper now, just locate the icon in the bottom right of the player to open the Whisper List window. Find the Twitch user you’d like to message and click their username to initiate a conversation.
In addition to better Whispers, Twitch has now added a Do Not Disturb (DND) mode in the Whisper Settings menu. When the feature is enabled, it prevents incoming Whispers from popping up on your screen in a new conversation window. For those that suffer from FOMO (fear of missing out), these Whispers are always available in the main Whispers List window.
Two more bonuses come in the form of additional settings to block Whispers from strangers and the ability to clear your inbox with the ever-convenient “mark all messages read” Whisper Setting.
