Travelers will get free Skype WiFi at over 50 US airports this Christmas

Skype is setting out to help US travelers over the holiday season by giving one free hour of Internet access to third-party wireless hotspots within the Skype WiFi hotspot footprint at selected airports across the country.

The Microsoft-owned company announced that from 21-27 December, travelers passing through or delayed in over 50 airports in the US can access third-party hotspots using Skype WiFi – including Skype Video – for free. You can see which airports are participating in this interactive map:

Skype recently gave away free WiFi in the UK as part of Internet Week Europe too, but whilst the US offer will work across both PCs and Macs, it will be restricted to iOS mobile devices, including the iPod Touch, iPhone and iPad.
