Apple has revealed some startling app store figures at the company’s “Let’s talk iPhone” event.
Scott Forstall, senior vice president of iOS Software, announced that there are now over 500,000 apps in the app store including 140,000 iPad apps. And even more impressively, over 1 billion apps are downloaded every month.
To put that in context, Google’s Android Market has 250,000 apps available for download.
18 billion apps have reportedly been downloaded from the App Store since its launch, and Apple also claims to have paid $3 billion to iOS developers.
I’m no Apple fan boy but this is undeniably impressive.
