The StartupBus is launching in Europe and heading to LeWeb

The StartupBus is launching in Europe and heading to LeWeb

StartupBus, the competition that’s taken ‘buspreneurs’ to SXSW Interactive two years running to build and launch startups for the duration of the bus ride, is coming to Europe in December. The voyage will be starting in Amsterdam and ending in Paris in time for the LeWeb conference. StartupBus Europe will be an entrepreneurial competition that’s part-hackathon, part-road trip. Participants will have 3 days to conceive, build and launch a startup while traveling 100km an hour across the continent before pitching to a panel of top industry figures at LeWeb.

Participants will have the opportunity to test their skills against Europe’s best hackers (developers), hustlers (marketeers) and hipsters (designers) while competing for the title of European Champions. In addition to the community that is formed, participants will be exposed to leading tech operations in Europe.

Founder of StartupBus, Silicon Valley-based Elias Bizannes says the goal of StartupBus is to ‘export the unique entrepreneurial spirit found in Silicon Valley to Europe and beyond and wants to help people kick-start a good idea into a burgeoning startup by the time participants step off the bus’.

You might think this is a novel idea but impactful startups are coming out of the program including last year’s winner from New York TripMedi -a service that helps you find quality, low cost healthcare abroad. (See the video below).
