Thalmic Labs announced today that the first alpha units of its futuristic Myo armband, which tracks in-air gestures and muscle movement, are set to begin shipping “a few weeks from now.”

Pre-orders also recently opened up for Myo Developer Kits, which will go out in early 2014 ahead of the final consumer release.  If you’re anxious to get your arms on the Myo sooner than later, Thalmic Labs says customers can change their orders from a final unit to a developer kit.

First announced back in February, Myo will arrive as part of a new generation of innovative gesture interfaces like the Leap Motion.
