OK, so the real idea behind Road SMS is so that you can text while walking…but we all know what it will become.

Regardless, it’s a pretty handy augmented reality background for your SMS screen.  It uses your Android’s camera to change your texting background into your real life foreground so that you know what’s ahead of you if you’re walking around aimlessly.

Though the app is currently only available on certain Samsung phones, it or something like it is certain to hit the Android Market soon. Maybe this will be the end of people walking into manholes while lost in SMS nirvana.
