We are huge fans of TED here at The Next Web for its seemingly endless inspiration and world-changing potential. Recently, we got exited when Netflix announced its “TEDTalks Shows” are available on instant streaming.
Today, we have more news to bring you: The folks at TED are ramping up their distribution efforts, which is great because you really can never have too much TED in your life. Now, 30 million TuneIn listeners will be able to access TED Podcasts. So, whether their on the train to work, in the car, walking, working out, etc. 10 different TED Podcasts will be available for free through TuneIn’s new “Ideas” category.
“Over the past year we have been amazed by the acceleration of users accessing TEDTalks through mobile devices” said Deron Triff, Content Distribution Director at TED in the press release. “We are delighted to reach news audiences through TuneIn, particularly because of its extensive reach across devices and geographic distances.”
For those of you who are not part of that 30 million user figure, TuneIn is a free service that lets people listen to music, sports, comedy and talk from around the world. The platform offers more than 60,000 AM, FM, HD and Internet radio stations and more than two million on-demand programs streaming from every continent. Just last week, TuneIn added 40 CBS Radio stations to its platform as well. You can listen to TuneIn’s offerings on the web or on your mobile.
The new Ideas category can be found within the “Talk” area of the “Podcast” section of TuneIn Directory Channels, which will prominently feature TED Audio Stream. The TED Podcasts include talks on Technology, News & Politics, Kids and Family, Music and the Arts. Check out a screenshot below or listen to them at the link below.
