Technorati Japan, a localized service of the blog search and ranking service, will close down on Oct. 23.
“We would like to apologize to all our members and users for the inconvenience caused and, at the same time, thank you for your understanding,” the Technorati Japan notice says.
Technorati Japan was a joint venture with Digital Garage, a company founded by Joi Ito and Kaoru Hayashi in 1994. Digital Garage has invested in many successful Web startups in Japan, among them, Twitter.
The closure is reportedly due to a restructuring at Technorati in the U.S and in conjunction with a brand new Technorati.com design, announced today on TheNextWeb.com.
