Taylor Swift is advertising Apple Music now, so maybe the entire spat was planned

Taylor Swift starred in a 60-second commercial for Apple Music today, which was uploaded to her own Twitter and Instagram profiles directly.

The video features her rapping, falling off a treadmill and all but declaring her love for Apple Music, while demoing the much-touted human curated playlists.

It’s ironic that Swift, who was at the center of an incredibly public spat with Apple over the company not paying indie artists during trials, is now the frontwoman for the very product she was protesting against in the first place.

Many have suggested that the entire stunt, which included Swift publishing a post on her own Tumblr that said she found the move “to be shocking, disappointing, and completely unlike this historically progressive and generous company.”

Her now fronting Apple Music’s advertising, to me, brings into question yet again whether the entire stunt was pre-meditated to drum up support for the service and win over the indie holdouts for Apple’s new service.

It doesn’t really matter either way, but it shows just how the entire drama and subsequent resolution just two days later, could have been nothing more than a stunt – and a good one, at that.
