One of the companies we started besides The Next Web is Twitter Counter. It is the biggest statistics provider for Twitter and millions of people use it. We launched it as a weekend hack a few years ago and it quickly developed into a serious project, and a profitable company. Since then we have been very interested in providing statistics and have developed a few similar services, including one for Google+ called SocialStatistics.com.
Sometimes we think about other services and sometimes I develop those into (working) prototypes. One of those projects was called BitRow.com (for Rows of Bits) but after I registered the domain I never got around to developing the service I had in mind.
Today, as a part of our weekly ‘Startup Concepts for Sale’ series, we are selling BitRow.com. Bidding starts at $100 and the sale includes the following:
– The domain
– Follow-up post when you buy it
– Follow-up post when you sell your company to Facebook, Google or Twitter
Basically you are buying yourself a guaranteed review on The Next Web, something that otherwise wouldn’t happen, so that alone is worth thousands of dollars.
Bidding starts right now:
