Bollywood-focused movie streaming service Spuul is removing some of the barriers around content on its Android app. An update now enables users to stream free movies (or ‘cast’ them via Google Chromecast) without having to even register an account.
Spuul introduced offline syncing in Android last year. Initially that was for paying members only, but now all users can store any of Spuul’s free content offline — though this feature is ad-supported. Offline sync in the iOS version and for any paid-for content on either platform remains for premium ($4.99 per month) members only.
Finally, Spuul has begun allowing publishers to embed its content on websites. A handful of publishers — including unitezz.com and ovguide.com — are able to use the service’s free content, which is supported by ads. Publishers are given a cut of any ad revenue made from videos on their site, but Spuul declined to provide TNW with specific details of its revenue share deals.
