Spotify has today updated its iOS app with revamped navigation options that make it easier to scoot around the app and get to the music you want to play.
A quick swipe to the right with your finger (or a tap of the new top-left icon) will reveal a new sidebar that allows you quick access to core features like Search, Radio and Playlists.
Additionally a new ‘Now Playing’ bar has been added to the foot of the screen, allowing you to not only see the current track but move backwards and forwards in the current playlist with a left or right swipe. tapping the bar brings up the cover art, and a tap of said art takes you into deeper features like AirPlay, Shuffle and Repeat.
Finally, each track in a playlist now has a ‘…’ button, which brings up context-specific options like adding to a playlist, starring, adding to a queue and sharing.
These UI updates make using the app, which still isn’t at version 1.0 (today’s update brings it to 0.6.0), much faster and more fluid. The news follows the announcement of Spotify integration with Ford SYNC AppLink, launched earlier this week at Mobile World Congress.
