Souq.com Continues With Rapid Expansion – Reaches Kuwait

Kuwaitis have just gotten a new outlet to turn to for bargains and deals with Souq.com’s recent expansion to include Kuwait as one of it’s supported countries in the region. That makes this week one of the most active in online Kuwaiti activity by far.

Souq.com (The Middle Eastern version of eBay) which is part of Jabbar Internet Group, the resulting group including a number of companies after Yahoo!’s purchase of Maktoob back in 2009, has witnessed a rapid expansion plan that has reached Kuwait after their launch of Souq.com Egypt this April of this year.

Souq.com which was founded in 2005 after Mazad Maktoob, expanded to KSA in 2007 after initially only covering Jordan and the UAE. The website providing both an Arabic and English interface is still in testing, and should have an official launch soon.

After a 3 year nap Souq.com has gone into full throttle that with a complete overhaul of it’s platform’s infrastructure and an expansion plan that has included 2 additional countries in 2010 alone and an expected expansion into new markets within the next 4 months especially after Jabbar Internet Group began took their online prepaid cards to Morocco.
