SoundCloud has rolled out an interesting new feature for its Android app, designed to help users unearth new music and audio.

‘Explore’ showcases trending tracks – audio that people are playing and ‘liking’ across the SoundCloud platform. Additionally, you can browse to see what’s popular and fresh in your favourite genres, and even queue up songs to play. While this feature was previously made available on the Web version, a new algorithm has been rolled out for it today.

In addition, the Android app also sports a fresh design, with a new side menu hosting the most common functions.

Last month, SoundCloud announced it was reaching 250m listeners a month, as it started letting users add Instagram photos to their posts and profiles.

We’re told these latest updates will be arriving for the iOS app “in the coming months”.
