Sony Ericsson X12 coming with Android Gingerbread? Looks like it.

Sony Ericsson X12 coming with Android Gingerbread? Looks like it.

The unofficial, seriously, the unofficial Sony Ericsson blog has posted what they are claiming are the specifications for the still unannounced Sony Ericsson ANZU aka X12.

And from the looks of things, it looks like Sony has something pretty good cooking here.

Apparently, it’s going to be rocking a 4.2 inch FWVGA screen with 854×480 resolution, a capacitive display, a MSM7230 processor, HDMI (type D slot), an 8.1 megapixel camera with 16x digital zoom, HD video recording (with face recognition and tracking), built-in 3.5 mm headphone jack, a 1500 mA battery and guess what else?

It has Gingerbread aka Android 2.3 as its operating system.

That’s right, the operating system that Eric Schmidt said would be coming in a few weeks with near field communication technology on board.

Unfortunately, it’s pretty much certain that the Nexus S is going to be the launch phone so those of you feeling the lure of the X12’s syren song will likely have to wait a little bit before this baby hits the shelves.
