Is there much better for promotion than getting approval from Mark Zuckerberg?
The Facebook man himself has just noted how much he likes the Song Pop app on his own profile. Let’s see how this one grows with that kind of attention.
Earlier this week, Christian Hernandez, Facebook’s director of platform partnerships for EMEA also expressed his delight at the application while on stage at LeWeb2012. So what’s the fuss about?
Song Pop is a music trivia game where players can challenge friends and strangers to listen to song clips and recognise the songs. The application is free on Facebook, Android and iOS and it works on mobile as well as tablets.
Who knew that ‘what’s that tune?’ would translate so well in the mobile digital world?
Already on Google play, the application is showing big stats. Between 100k and 500k downloads.
There’s a graph shape any developer would love to see. We bet the team at FreshPlanet where the game was created are having kittens of joy about this latest endorsement.
No doubt this has something to do with the app already being a success and working well as a poster child for Facebook’s apps and games centre.
But how long does the excitement last? The thrills over DrawSomething led to a neat acquisition, but the response among mobile gamers can be fickle and stats will drop as soon as the attention span of the Internet runs out. Best to make hay while the sun shines and do your best while Mark Zuckerberg likes your app.
