If your work involves online marketing, then you may be interested to hear that Socialbakers, a company known for social media analytics, has acquired EdgeRank Checker, a startup that provides insight for Facebook News Feeds, in an undisclosed deal.
There’s obvious synergy here. Socialbakers CEO Jan Rezab says the coming together will provide brands with “entirely new levels of social media insight” and boost his company’s US market presence.
Socialbakers will introduce News Feed-based analytics into its existing products soon, but EdgeRank Checker will continue to be available as a standalone product.
This deal is the second significant analytics-based consolidation in recent weeks, following App Annie’s acquisition of fellow mobile data startup Distimo.
