Slack now supports multi-racial emoji

Slack now supports multi-racial emoji

Emoji on Slack are about to get more diverse: the platform now supports different skin colorations for emoji.

The trend towards including more racially diverse emoji began with iOS 8.3, which allows you to select different skin tones for emoji’s with a long-press.

The approach is slightly different on Slack, however. Currently, the different skin tones are limited to only some emoji, mainly those that appear more humanoid or featuring hands.

To try them out, just start typing the emoji commands, and you’ll see a list of the various options you can select. It’s not the most convenient method, but it’s definitely a start.

The updated emoji should be available for everyone now.
