iOS 8.3 update with racially diverse emoji is now officially available

Earlier today Apple seeded Yosemite 10.10.3 to OS X users, but folks with mobile devices haven’t been forgotten: the company just released iOS 8.3 as well.

iOS 8.3’s most notable feature is arguably its expanded collection of racially diverse emoji. Any human-looking emoji can be changed by tapping and holding on the icon, and there are more than 300 new ones. We’ve even written a guide on how to use them if you need some help.

It also includes new languages for Siri, including Russian, Danish, Dutch, Thai, Swedish, Turkish and Portuguese.

And as usual, there are a host of bug fixes and smaller tweaks as well, and Apple is claiming improved performance.

Last month iOS 8.3 Beta 3 became the first version of iOS to be shown off in beta form to the public; previously, the program was offered exclusively to developers.
