Oscar winner Christoph Waltz goes ‘MURICA for Samsung

Christoph Waltz is one of the most recognizable faces in Hollywood right now, largely thanks to his unusual Viennese diction, and his involvement in critically-acclaimed movies like ‘Carnage’, ‘Django Unchained’, and ‘Spectre’. Therefore, it makes perfect sense that Samsung would tap his star factor in the newest advert for the Samsung Galaxy Note 7. Check it out above.

The spot sees Waltz make the case that the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 is perfect for the overstretched, overachieving Yank, and expounds on how the phone matches America’s awesomeness, in the most epic of ways.

If George Washington used a smartphone, the advert implies, it would have been a Galaxy Note 7. It concludes in with the Austrian thespian transforming into a flag-waving, patriotic, all-American doer. You have to watch it.

I’m not sure why, but technology adverts – and especially ones put out by Samsung – have a propensity to be a bit of a mixed bag. At the bad end of the spectrum, there’s the infamously cringeworthy spot for the Galaxy Gear Watch. Prepare yourself. It’s excruciating.

Thankfully, this one is actually quite good, and Waltz expertly makes the case for the Galaxy Note 7. If you’re convinced, you can pre-order it now on Samsung’s website.
