Samsung not slowing down, reportedly launching nine new phones and two tablets

Despite being locked in a legal battle with Apple over numerous patent complaints, Samsung is reportedly to launch nine new smartphones and two new tablets, according a Lithuanian retailer that has knowledge of the new devices.

Looking at the devices highlighted in the “leak”, Samsung is to debut seven new Android handsets, one of which could possibly lay the foundations for a next-generation Nexus device, if indeed Google intends to partner with Samsung.

Certainly the most interesting of the nine devices, the Samsung I9250 is a beast of a phone, featuring a 4.65-inch Super AMOLED HD screen with an HD resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. The device is said to feature a 5-megapixel camera (surprising, given the Galaxy S II has an 8-megapixel sensor) and will run Google’s Ice Cream Sandwich operating system – the first handset from Samsung to do so.

The other eight Samsung Android handsets include another device with an HD resolution, the Samsung I9220, which will feature Gingerbread 2.3.3, a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED screen, with a 1.4 GHz dual-core processor and an 8-megapixel camera.

The Samsung I9210 also runs Gingerbread, has a 4.5″ WVGA SuperAMOLED and will be 4G-enabled. Next in line is the I9210 with 16 GB of internal storage, 8-megapixel rear-facing camera with a LED flash and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera.

Samsung may also launch a mid-range phone in the I8150 with its 1.4 Ghz single-core processor, a 3.7″ WVGA (480×800) TFT display, Android 2.3.3, 5-megapixel camera that can support 720p video recording, and HSDPA support.

Three low-end devices follow with the B5510 – with a 800MHz processor, QWERTY keyboard, 3-megapixel camera, 2.8-inch display and Froyo OS – and the Samsung S5360 and Samsung S5610. These two smartphones come with QVGA (240×320 pixels) displays –  3-inches and 2.4-inches respectively, with the former sporting a 5-megapixel camera and the latter a 2-megapixel shooter.

Samsung’s two tablets are set to include the P6200 7-inch Honeycomb tablet, with a Super AMOLED 1024 x 600 display, 3-megapixel front and 2-megapixel back cameras. This will presumably support 3G – possibly even 4G networks – although it is not known at this time.

The second tablet is the P6210, which is the same tab as above but with just Wi-Fi support.

The Korean vendor will launch two Bada 2.0 handsets, which GSMArena describes thusly:

The Bada 2.0-running Samsung S5380 has a 3.2″ display, Bluetooth 3.0, a 2 MP snapper, while theSamsung S8600 Wave III will come with a 4″ SuperAMOLED display, a 5 MP camera, Bluetooth 3.0 and 3 GB of internal storage.

We imagine these devices, if real, will be launched throughout the year and early into 2012, with the reported Nexus device possibly debuting around October time, when Google launches its new Ice Cream Sandwich operating system.
