Benzinga, a service which brings you “business news before it’s news” just tweeted that analyst rumors are swirling of Yahoo bidding for The New York Times. There’s nothing more to the story for now, other than this makes completely no sense to us.
We first caught the rumor when Megan McCarthy, the founder of Mediagazer Retweeted it. We completely agree with you. What? Even Benzinga says, “It doesn’t make sense” and that it’s pure speculation at this point.
We’ve reached out to the New York Times for comment and will report back if we hear anything.
