Welcome to 2014: Reddit posts can now be embedded on any website

One of the frustrations we have as tech bloggers is Reddit; not because it’s weird or sometimes shitty to people, but because embedding a post in an article is difficult. Reddit just solved that for us, though. Welcome to 2014.

Writers like me can now embed Reddit posts in articles, just as we can with tweets and (usually) Facebook posts. Google Plus is still a bit finicky, but who cares.

Those embedded Reddit posts also have links, which helps readers respond to those posts if they like. All type of post — text, video, pictures and GIFs — are eligible for embedding.

Speaking to TechCrunch, Reddit’s head of journalism and media Mark Luckie said “The great thing about Reddit content is that it’s usually longer, it’s more insightful, more in-depth than you’ll see on other social platforms. You’re going to get a more robust conversation.”

Robust is maybe not how many people would describe Reddit conversations, but I see his point.

So you get an idea of what you’ll be seeing more of around the Web, here’s a look at a gaming GIF shared via Reddit:
