Mac geeks are a unique breed. Depending upon your level in the “Apple Cult”, the following may appease your daily addiction.
Mac Menu Bar Setups
For those of you who get excited by office or studio Mac setups, there’s a new line of Apple porn specifically dedicated to the menu bar.
Mac Menu Bars isn’t just about aesthetics or the appearance of the icons sitting in your bar. It also offers a great way to boost your workflow because it has a variety of unique configurations that might be superior to your current setup.
On the site, you’re able to see a variety of ways the Mac community is utilizing their menu bars and it includes a description of each application coupled with a direct link to download the app.
If you’ve been dying to share your own clever arrangement of apps or you’re interested in discovering some new ones, Mac Menu Bars is the place to go.
Vintage Cougar Porn
While our shiny new iPad and MacBook Pros are sweet, there’s also a select few that get excited about collecting rare vintage Apple systems. Believe it or not, but for one in mint condition some collectors will pay over $20,000 on eBay, wooden case and all.
The Swan Station computer, an Apple II that debuted in ABC’s Lost was already auctioned off this summer but you could likely grab a non-DHARMA branded model on eBay for a few hundred bucks.
The Apple Mac SE 30 computer is another piece hardware you can purchase from eBay and usually the starting bid is around $20-$30 for a working model.
You obviously can’t use these vintage computers for anything useful but we’d think they would make an interesting conversation piece, especially if you grabbed one that worked. If you’re interested in the evolution of Apple hardware, The Apple Museum is dedicated to the historical background of Apple and its products.
Sexy Mac Set ups
Many Mac geeks spend a great deal of time rearranging and perfecting what they consider to be the “ideal Mac setup”. And, if you have a slew of Macs and gadgets the set ups become more complicated but when done right, for geeks, it’s a highly rewarding feat. Without further adieu, here’s a few inspiring images that honestly make me tingle.
There’s a lot of great Mac setup collections out there and OSX Daily has tons of images sent in by proud Apple users. You could also just search “Mac setups” on the web. Should you have a sweet setup you’d like to share please post a link in the comments.
