Polyvore for iPhone brings personalized recommendations to its fashion ecommerce app

Fashion community Polyvore has updated its iOS app to include personalized recommendations based on user feedback.

As you like and dislike products in the app, Polyvore will learn your tastes by mapping a “Style Graph.” Your feed will then include items that match your preferences. The feature is coming first to iPhone, but Android and other platforms will get it eventually.

Polyvore tied together four different datasets to create its learning algorithm: user-generated content, metadata from its product catalog, shopper behavior and curation. Each of those aspects feeds into the Style Graph in order to produce a sufficiently complex approach to fashion.
