Paid Angry Birds for Android app coming within a month

Paid Angry Birds for Android app coming within a month

Angry Birds gamers with Android smartphones will soon be able to enjoy the insanely popular game without obtrusive in-app adverts after games developers Rovio took to Twitter to confirm an ad-free version of the game was almost ready.

Rovio’s Twitter message came in response to a number of questions on whether a paid-app was nearing release, stating “give us another month and we’ll be there”:

Rovio initially launched the Angry Birds beta for free on the Android Market, topping 1 million downloads in under two weeks. When the game publicly launched, it was released as an ad-supported app on alternative Android marketplace GetJar, earning the company a reported $1 million a month from advertising alone.

Angry Birds has surpassed the 50 million download mark worldwide and is now available on smartphones, the Mac App Store and also on Windows PC’s.
