Professional training and certification service Simplilearn has announced plans to release a mobile website in October, followed by native iOS and Android apps for its platform.
CEO Krishna Kumar said the upcoming mobile Web version will combine all the features of its desktop website with a custom-designed UI for streaming courses. The native apps will offer users a choice between either streaming content or downloading it onto their devices.
Simplilearn, which falls in the same vein as massive open online course (MOOC) platforms but with a focus on practical certification and training, recently raised a $10 million Series B round from Helion Venture Partners and Kalaari Capital to help it expand its team and invest in its mobile offering.
