Norrsken Foundation
Norrsken Foundation and Nvidia will open a hub for AI startups in central Stockholm in 2027.
The Stockholm AI Lab will host a select group of European founders who use AI to address problems in climate, health, food and society, and it will also be home to Nvidia’s Stockholm office.
The lab will sit in a 1910 building at Birger Jarlsgatan 37, about 200 metres from Norrsken House Stockholm, the foundation’s first hub and global headquarters.
It will be Norrsken’s second site in the city, and founders can already apply for membership.
The project follows a pledge Norrsken made in June 2025, when it set aside a €300M AI fund for European startups using AI for social and environmental good. Norrsken now runs that programme under the name Prompt What Matters.
“What these founders need now is what every great movement needs: a place,” said Niklas Adalberth, the Klarna co-founder who set up Norrsken in 2016.
Nvidia is the lab’s founding technology partner, and in addition to its office, the chipmaker will offer AI computing power, developer tools for robotics, simulation, and life sciences, and links to Inception, its programme for startups.
The deal adds to Nvidia’s European AI push. Earlier this week, chief executive Jensen Huang said the company would put a further $2bn into European AI companies.
On the ground floor, Nvidia and Root Bio will run a demo lab. Root Bio, a Norrsken portfolio company formerly known as Agteria, uses AI to design molecules that address biological problems, such as greenhouse gas emissions.
Later demo partners will be chosen in robotics, climate, health and manufacturing.
In addition, the lab will have private offices for startups, a lounge for members and a regular programme of events.
Members will also be able to use both Stockholm sites and join Norrsken’s wider network.
Norrsken says Stockholm is already producing some of Europe’s fastest-growing AI companies.
It names Legora, Lovable, Sana, now part of Workday, and Einride, a Norrsken VC portfolio company that listed on Nasdaq in June at a $1.35bn valuation.
Besides Stockholm, Norrsken runs houses in Barcelona, Kigali, Brussels and Amsterdam, and its five funds have raised more than $1bn.
